Sign and fill a PDF

Fill in form fields, add your signature and the date.

Runs on your device. Your files are never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose the PDF. If it has fillable fields, they're listed so you can type into them.
  2. Draw your signature in the box, or type your name and pick a style.
  3. Press Place, then click on the page where it should go. Drag it to move it, or drag its blue corner to resize it.
  4. Add the date or any other text the same way. Today's date is filled in for you.
  5. Press Save PDF and download the result.

Limits

  • This is not a certified e-signature. It places an image of your signature on the page, like signing a printout and scanning it. There is no audit trail or identity check. This is fine for many everyday forms; if you're unsure, ask the person who sent the document whether a signature image is acceptable. Some legal and financial documents require a certified e-signature service.
  • Only Western European characters can be typed into fields and added text for now.
  • Rotated pages can't take a placed signature yet.
  • Some forms use scripts or special field types (such as XFA forms) that this tool can't fill. Their fields won't appear in the list.

Questions

Is a drawn signature legally valid?

In many countries, an electronic image of your signature can be valid for everyday agreements, but the rules depend on where you are and what the document is. If the document is high-stakes, ask the person who sent it how they want it signed.

What does "lock the fields" do?

It turns the filled-in fields into ordinary page content, so they can't be edited afterwards and look the same in every PDF viewer. Uncheck it if the recipient needs to change the fields.

My PDF has no fields. Can I still fill it in?

Yes. Use Place text to put any text on the page, such as your name, address or the date, and position it on the lines.

Is my signature saved anywhere?

No. It exists only in this page while it's open, and in the PDF you download.
